One of my clients has been using the Sony BRC-H700 with HFBK-HD1 card for cameras and the Panasonic AV-HS450N for switching.

Both work very well.

Re: CHV-TSTAT with Mini-split HVAC system

Some of the Mitsubishi units work with BACnet (which uses RS-485). I've seen the protocol specification or a module on here (if you don't see it, e-mail me), so you may be able to roll-your-own solution. Crestron also has a specific device to interface with BACnet (GLS-BMA).

Secondary heating and first stage cooling are spec'd to be controlled by a Mitsubishi MSZ/MUZ (MSZ-FE18NA indoor/MUZ-FE18NA outdoor) single-room mini-split heat pump. The unit has an RF remote and optional wired control, but does not use typical Tstat wiring (relays).
Has anyone dealt with controlling this via a Crestron CHV-TSTAT so that the HVAC can be properly staged and controlled (they currently have compteing heating sources.)

We have the option to replace the system with something if we know it can be easily integrated. Anyone use anything like this (18,000 BTU) and can control from Crestron.
Maybe even something that has another form of interface or com port (RS232/485)

Any help would be appreciated.

I am using the I2P module Wolfvision Eye-12 TCP/IP version to control an Eye

C2ENET-2 to the Eye-12. I am using IP 192.168.1.1 on the TCP/IP client symbol in
the program and IP 192.168.1.2 in the Eye 12 ethernet setup. Subnet mask is
255.255.255.0

Quite often when zooming and focusing the power off feedback goes low for a
few seconds and then goes back high but the Eye-12 is still powered on. Other
times the unit just powers off by itself. I inserted a mini switch into the
data drop at the crestron end thinking maybe the Cat 5 cable was too long but
there was no change.

Any idea as to what might be the problem or what I am doing wrong?

Thanks
Jim

Re: Simpl Windows Freezes

We have also discovered the freeze issues when working with the DMPS-300. We have concluded that it's caused by the OOTBF. I've also noticed that back in the day when working with the MPS-300 (QM), Simpl would also freeze since that also had OOTBF.

I have started working on my first DMPS-300 Simpl Windows project. While I am not at all a fan of this piece of hardware, I have started having Simpl Windows freeze up for several seconds and then start working again. Just wondering if this is something to do with the latest version of Simpl, or is this particular to a Simpl project involving the DMPS-300?

I think when I first found it my conclusion is that it's a problem to some extent with anything that has OOTBF, but it's orders of magnitude worse with the DMPS.

No problems whatsoever programming real 2- or 3- series boxes.

Re: iDevice not accepting Crestron Mobile Pro Project

Hi,

Yes, and no. I found a work-around, but not the source of the problem, and thus not a full solution.

The ONLY way that I have been able to resolve this problem on this site was as follows:
1. Set up a separate WAP, with nothing connected to it wirelessly, or wired.
2. Take the iDevice off of the home's automation wireless network.
3. If the iDevice had an IP address in the range 192.168.1.xxx (for example), statically set its IP address to another address in another range completely (192.168.5.xxx for example). If I assign it an address in the same range the download still did not work.
4. Connect my laptop to the WAP wirelessly, and assign an IP address to it in the same range as the iDevice.
5. Connect to the iDevice in Toolbox, and download as I am normally supposed to do. This has then worked everytime, as long as the above sequence is followed to a 'T'.
6. Change the iDevice back to the Home Automation Wireless Network (DHCP Enabled), and it connects and can control the system no problem.

For the first 'virgin' download to the iDevice this would be the final step, but if I need to then download a new version of the graphics to the iDevice I then need to do the following steps:
1. Perform steps 1 through 6 listed above.
2. Remove all of the Crestron Systems connection settings from the iDevice in the Crestron Mobile App. Make sure that there are no systems loaded in the menu. Add the connection settings for the Home Automation System to the app.
3. Connect to the newly added system.

If I do not perform steps 2 and 3 above the Crestron Mobile App always connects to the project that was on the iDevice prior to the last download. The iDevice somehow 'remembers' it. I tried closing the app and opening it again. I tried restarting the iDevice. Neither of these two steps forced the CM App to load the new graphics, only starting 'from scratch' would force it to do so. On this site I tried this on an iPod Touch, iPhone 4, and an iPad 2, all requiring the same steps listed above.

As you can see, the above is a very time consuming, and laborious process to follow, so hopefully your site doesn't require all of the steps above, but hopefully some of the above helps you to sort your problem out.

Regards,
Marko

SIMPL training skills? Interested in a few days Caribbean?

Hi all,

I did the Systembuilder training last year but as we all know that doesn't quite cover the possibilities of all Crestron equipment. I will follow the SIMPL training later this year, but really need a head start for some upcoming projects. Would anyone of you be interested to spend a few days in the Caribbean to do some basic training?
I have an MC3, MLX3 and AV2 available.
I'll cover transportation and stay (swimming pool included). Preferrably in the Miami region due to transportation budget. Please send me an e-mail if you're interested.
