Re: CP3 FW

Sounds like a pretty epic quantity of crosspoint routing¡

FWIW, I think my CP3 in our gym is running current FW, recently updated from 1.8 or something like that¡ one program for AV. Not doing anything nearly as extensive as the one you¡¯re running with 8 programs¡

  1. Lighting - Communication with Lutron Illumination
  2. Shades - Ancient BTX R2D7
  3. Climate - Combination of forced air and radiant
  4. Security - ELK
  5. Access Control - Combination of custom relays and inputs with communication to old Emerge system
  6. IC Realtime - NVR control, some PTZ, alarm notifications
  7. Pool / Spa - Pentair
  8. Weather - Davis weather station (gives local weather feedback) (communicates to the shade program for wind based awning control and lighting program for skylight closing)

That's it!

I like the ability to debug and load an individual program without disturbing the others.

Main processor is only running 1 program that handles AV and UI.

Re: CP3 FW

I don¡¯t think I have ever run eight programs on one processor before. ?At most maybe 5. ?Curious what those eight programs are?

Re: CP3 FW

Hi Chris,
?
I think that everyone is rightfully fearful of updating anything with a Crestron swirl once it is working.
?
I updated a CP3 just last week to the latest firmware, but it was running 1.5xxx.xxxx previously.
I had to update it to connect to a GW1 which forces network security.
It was on a Friday too ... I swore never to update a Crestron device on a Friday!
?
However, everything is working without issues.
It is my "environmental" processor.
So, it's running 8 programs and communicating with the main processor.
?
Fingers crossed!
Brian

Anyone?

Re: Lutron QSX firmware update broke modules?

OK, thanks...

Same for me¡

I have several sites with QSX and not seeing these issues.?

Taurus UCX Series Module or TCP/IP Control

Hi All,
?
Has anyone controlled the Lightwave Taurus UCX series device from the Crestron processor? If anyone shares the module or direct commands,
it would be very useful for me.

Re: Topics in Home Automation - New Article in Residential Tech Today

Hmm.? I started working on this article back in December.? I swear at that time I found some wider shades tan I can find now.? I actually found one that is 48" wide, not 40 as you found.? Not sure if I made a mistake, Ikea discontinued some models with the new year, or if there is some other issue such as some European models that aren't available here.

Thanks

Jay

Jay,
I believe the article requires a correction. The widest IKEA motorized shade/blind offered is only 40". You state 76", but I think you got confused with the lenght/height dimension.
?
If I am wrong, please share a link.?

They mentioned in the webinar that the old MMS-5e module would work and that they would eventually release an updated module for new features.

Re: Topics in Home Automation - New Article in Residential Tech Today

The reality is that there is not a great deal more work to install these shades than if you were ordering custom shades online and then installing them yourself.? In both cases you have to start with very careful measurements of your window and the final installation is the same.? The only difference is the work to custom cut the shade to the correct width.? I've done both and it really wasn't much extra work to install these shades compared to ones that were custom made.

In addition, if I was doing all the shades in a home, the time to install each shade would get shorter and shorter as I became more and more familiar/comfortable with the process.

At least they didn't make it look easier than it is.

Thanks, Jay

Re: Autonomic M5Pro Integration

My understanding is that they integrate the same as the A and E series...

Re: Autonomic M5Pro Integration

just call autonomic support if u are a dealer i am pretty sure it is the same they respond pretty quick but i assume it is the same way for the e series?

Re: Topics in Home Automation - New Article in Residential Tech Today

While I'm getting the online version of the article updated, here is the correct link to the installation video:

Autonomic M5Pro Integration

Is anyone aware if these new autonomic media servers integrate as seamlessly as the old ones?? Do we still access the web gui and enter IPID and processor information to connect and get online, then just use CRPC joins on media object?? I do not see the specific device to add to my program, wondering if I can just add it as an MMS-5?? Or do these not integrate the same way the E series did?
?
Thanks in advance.
