Re: CP3 FW
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýSounds like a pretty epic quantity of crosspoint routing¡ FWIW, I think my CP3 in our gym is running current FW, recently updated from 1.8 or something like that¡ one program for AV. Not doing anything nearly as extensive as the one you¡¯re running with 8 programs¡ ? --?Steven ? ? From:

That's it! I like the ability to debug and load an individual program without disturbing the others. Main processor is only running 1 program that handles AV and UI. |

Re: CP3 FW
Hi Chris,
?
I think that everyone is rightfully fearful of updating anything with a Crestron swirl once it is working.
?
I updated a CP3 just last week to the latest firmware, but it was running 1.5xxx.xxxx previously.
I had to update it to connect to a GW1 which forces network security.
It was on a Friday too ... I swore never to update a Crestron device on a Friday!
?
However, everything is working without issues.
It is my "environmental" processor.
So, it's running 8 programs and communicating with the main processor.
?
Fingers crossed!

Re: Topics in Home Automation - New Article in Residential Tech Today
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHmm.? I started working on this article back in December.? I swear at that time I found some wider shades tan I can find now.? I actually found one that is 48" wide, not 40 as you found.? Not sure if I made a mistake, Ikea discontinued some models with the new year, or if there is some other issue such as some European models that aren't available here. Re: Topics in Home Automation - New Article in Residential Tech Today
The reality is that there is not a great deal more work to install these shades than if you were ordering custom shades online and then installing them yourself.? In both cases you have to start with very careful measurements of your window and the final installation is the same.? The only difference is the work to custom cut the shade to the correct width.? I've done both and it really wasn't much extra work to install these shades compared to ones that were custom made.

In addition, if I was doing all the shades in a home, the time to install each shade would get shorter and shorter as I became more and more familiar/comfortable with the process. Jay On 4/9/2025 1:12 PM, Eric Luckart via groups.io wrote:
I could see showing up home one day and having my wife tell me she(ME) is replacing all the shades. Then saying something like, it's easy and they are smart, watch this video! At least they didn't make it look easier than it is. Thanks, Jay |

While I'm getting the online version of the article updated, here is the correct link to the installation video:

Autonomic M5Pro Integration
Is anyone aware if these new autonomic media servers integrate as seamlessly as the old ones?? Do we still access the web gui and enter IPID and processor information to connect and get online, then just use CRPC joins on media object?? I do not see the specific device to add to my program, wondering if I can just add it as an MMS-5?? Or do these not integrate the same way the E series did?
?
Thanks in advance. |
