Re: The Latest SimplWindows (June 6)
Received & confirmed 1 report of problematic behavior in Program View. Specifically re: typing into the status bar to add symbols/subfolders/etc to Logic folder. The issue was reported to the SIMPL team, and they noted it'll be fixed in the next release. |
The Latest SimplWindows (June 6)
Hi All,
For those who've updated to the latest SMW (June 6), have you found any problems, issues or deal-breakers with it? Though I can't remember specifically what waas wrong with it, I had updated to the previous release and had issues and downgraded back to the one previous to that... TIA! |
Re: NASA RTSP Feeds for Touch Panel
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýIf someone doesn't respond with a link you can use I would
suggest contacting NASA directly with your question.? Over the
years I have had to contact government agencies about data they
provide, protocols, etc. for various drivers I've written.? Each
time I've found the people at the agency I've contacted very
friendly and willing to help.? I found this information on the NASA web site: If you are not able to locate the information you are seeking on
one of our websites, you may write to us at: Hope this helps Jay On 6/18/2023 11:13 AM, Cory wrote:

Re: NAX Streaming & BBC Radio Stations
Hello All,
BBC is moving (has moved) from Shoutcast to an HLS stream to provide their broadcast content. More can be read about that here:? On eSeries MMS players, this will only affect systems in the UK. Everywhere else in the world, BBC is available through our native TuneIn integration and I have confirmed that is still functional. For systems in the UK, we have supported BBC via Stream URL's. This has been working fine with the Shoutcast streams up until this week. Concurrently we have been developing a solution to support the new HLS streams in anticipation of this switchover. This functionality will be publicly released next week in a hotfix. This morning we loaded this hotfix on some of our partner systems, physically located in the UK, and we have confirmed that the HLS functionality works. The HLS stream URL's we've documented are functional and customers can continue to listen to BBC via an MMS in the UK once updating their unit and entering the new URL's. We will continue to test this release over the weekend. In a future update, we will likely add these stations to units in the UK by default, so this configuration is not required. For now, the documentation to add these URLs is here:? As mentioned, this hotfix is not publicly released, but I can push it manually if you email me the MMS's MAC address.?MichaelJ@... -Michael |

The NSP are difficult to work with to say the least. You can airplay to them and I have been able to get spotify to work with them as well, but when it came to saving a playlist from Spotify in Crestron Home for the NSP it only worked if it was a Spotify playlist.? I had 2 SWAMPs and 6 NSPs deployed with crestron home and the only problem I had was trying to use the Zone 7 and Zone 8 preamp outputs into a HD-XSP.? The SWAMP and the 6 amplified?outputs work great with Crestron Home, just good luck with the source feeding the SWAMP. So if a reboot does not take care of it, it is probably RMA time.I wouldn't say that at all. Worth checking REPORTCRESNET and/or NetDevTree to ensure it's reporting, and at the correct CNET ID (didn't change to default ID, etc). May need to review and troubleshoot the CNET topology & connections if it isn't. Otherwise, ensure the program is still running on the processor (didn't stop due to runtime issues, etc - refer to logs if needed). |

My mistake, they are in there. I would pretend they are not though.
I think most if not all of the streaming services have been removed. I remember them locking up pretty frequently when being used with a tethered iPod 24/7. There are better options for Airplay these days. Sonos Port does it well. Pretty sure you can get basic airplay info to media player object as well. (at least in simpl) |

They do appear in the list.
But I'm worried about functionality given the age of the devices. |

also I dont see them on the list of supported audio devices either, so looks like they dont work with home |
Crestron Home and SWAMP system

Hello guys,
We need to update an old install featuring an AV3 and multiple SWAMPs with a Crestron Home processor. Are there any limitations we need to be made aware of when using an old SWAMP system (with 2 expanders and 3 CEN-NSP-1 players) with a Crestron Home processor? Thanks. |
Re: Shelly Cloud devices integration in Crestron Home - UI question

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýI'll just throw in my $.02 since I've done a lot of work with
integrating the Hubitat Elevation Hub with a Crestron processor in
the SimplWindows world.? I've had email conversations with
WIlliam, the principal at NC Systrems.? I'm not sure he is part of
this group so I'll just say he is using the same approach as I
have for integration and while he only supports a few device types
right now, he has told me he plans on adding more support to his
CH driver over time. Personally, I use a lot of devices integrated with my Crestron
system through the Hubitat in my own home.? I have found it to be
a very stable and reliable platform.? The integration has been
rock solid.? The Hubitat, like a Crestron processor, executes
everything locally on the hub so it isn't reliant on a cloud
service or active Internet connection.? That being said, when I wrote the article on Crestron-Hubitat
integration for Residential Tech Today a few years ago, I found
that if you send commands too fast to the Hubitat you can overload
that pathway.? So, for example, an all off command that sends 20
individual commands to turn off lights is going to be a problem.?
There is an easy work around for this.? The Hubitat allows you to
create a light group that combines any number of lights into a
single entity.? So, a single command to turn on/off the group will
turn on/off all lights in the group.? I haven't tested this
recently on the latest C-8 Hubitat hub. However, I expect that
while the faster C-8 will handle things better, there will still
be limitations.? I have over 70 devices connected to my Hubitat.? Probably about
1/3 of these are not true devices but are virtual that only exist
in software.? I use virtual devices to trigger Alexa routines from
my Crestron processor and to integrate with devices whose only
integration is through IFTTT (without a port forward on the
router).? For example, a sensor in my mailbox is triggered when
the mail is delivered and then an announcement is made on all the
Alexa devices in my home that the mail has arrived.? The article is very long and detailed but if you want to learn
more about Crestron-Hubitat integration the article is located
here: For those still working in the SimplWindows world my Crestron-Hubitat SimplWindows driver can be found here: Hope this helps Jay

Re: CRESTRON CONSTRUCT first impressions
First compile of any project will be slow in Construct while it sets up the build environment.? Second compile should be much snappier.
