I have used them before without any issues. There is extra set of
relays, either NO or NC where you can program an event after vehicle
detection.

to define additional home screen items by using Alt-+ when you have

the first parameter.

Hey All:

Got a big of an odd one. I'm working with a MTX-3 and I am receiving a warning that

"Application MTX-3.exe encountered a serious error and must shut down"

I have found the root cause of this error. I have a page with three subpages. I have digital join numbers on the first and third subpage. However, if I add a digital join number to the second subpage I get the error message. It does not matter what join number I give it. Whether the join has a associated command within my program or not the error still pops up. I have rebuilt the page a number of times and initialized the device a number of times to no avail.

Any thoughts?

When they turn the power back on the dm 8x8 takes longer to boot then the mpc. Is there a feedback signal in the switcher that lets you know it is ready so I can trigger a warming up message on the m50?

their is a real-time log mode in system builder.

i'll tyr watching the sb created simpl code in the simpl debugger. i spent several hours (way too late at night) trying to understand and find where/when the simpl code turns on the receiver but got confused seeing so many inputs labeled as '0' into the symbols. my unschooled suspicion is that what i was looking for is in some black box of a symbol coded in simpl+ - but like i said its my unschooled eye.

i'm trying to get a repeatable working methodology for building prodigy based systems. the desire is to use as much of the automation tools i.e. composer/system builder that i can reasonably rely on.

from the responses i have gotten on remotecentral as well as offline chats with othe ci's i appear to better off starting directly with SB and for systems beyond its capabilities contracting with one of the (you?) CAIPs.

regardless it would also be nice to know if my findings are universal - i.e. the latest composer/sb is busted - and if not what i need to do (reinstall perhaps) to get to a stable starting point. being in the software/systems business for over 30 years i've developed a number of assumptions which are not proving useful in the crestron/control world. this is more like the wild wild west for a noob like me.

Do you mean simpl debugger when you say real time log, I assume so. I believe you can change how the time is displayed, realtime, or time from event load. Either way, you should see any signals that you're currently watching, and the time is relative anyway. It would be a digital transition you're looking for.

Not a shortcut -- double-click open of a S+ file (or right-click,
select Open). I even get the error dialog after clicking the "New
SIMPL+ Module" button in SIMPL's toolbar, unless I've already opened
S+ via the start-menu.

I agree, but sometimes I wonder if its worth worrying about, there are probably bigger money leaks in a business to worry about. I suppose it's a different story if you're a CAIP.

What bothers me is when a sales guy tells me a client is asking for their code and doesn't even ask why and expects me to just send it. We always do, but at least ask. If a client is asking for code to replicate a system with another vendor, maybe its better they're gone anyway.

I would view the replication of the system as falling outside of the
license. Whether or not A) I'd ever find out and B) be in a position to
and/or want to do anything about it is another matter.



Some sort of 'replication fee' would seem appropriate.

I recently began working with a commercial dealer programming small

small). They took my advice and used a cookie cutter approach for future
conference rooms.soon one room turned into sixteen, and it looks like there
may eventually end up being over a hundred implementations.

It has always been my policy (a policy held by many of you) that after final
payment, the code belongs to the dealer. I've just never had a dealer plan
to use one small piece of code in possibly hundreds of instances. I've sold
modules on a per use basis, but (alas) none have been so wildly successful
as to warrant a licensing policy. Thusly: Do any of you license on a per use
basis? One well worded sentence added to my contract could mean a ridiculous
difference in income from this dealer. That is, if I can get my head around
the ethical issues (if there are any).

hello all,

i have a site that had a tmpc-10x die, i dont have access to the source but i do have an xpanel running that im going ot manually map out the keys from. we are replaceing the 10x with an 8x. to save me from reprogramming the system, does any one know if the 8x will still send the commands to the system if i use the same ip id as the 10x i know it works when doing it with xpanels but i havent tried with touchpanels.
