you definitely have to set all power saving parameters to "off" and there is
a point in the normal menu (not the service menu) where to set standby mode.
If you select the wrong one here its not possible to switch it on since SBY
will shut down the RS232 interface. But setting this correctly will make it
work OK. I've just integrated 3 of them...

Are you sure it doesn't need the serial port settings changed in a
service menu? I can't get it to turn on, turning off and changing
inputs works fine.
