The ML 600 has been the closest thing to 'perfect' for me thus far.
even though there are wants, by in large there are no real confusing
things about it (assuming you know how to set up the LCD...)
The key, IMHO, with UI design is not only having the right
buttons/labels where/when they need to be, but to not have confusing
or poorly weighted(importance) buttons.
The root problem with the RED/guide, etc. is two-fold. You have a
button that has (2) commands, and the weighting is incorrect. GUIDE
is, by all accounts, a much more important function and therefore
should have it's own button (INFO would also qualify for this status).
Would you Sub-label the ANGLE button with 'Play'? Of course not!
Now I'll have to find a (crappy) way to cover the sub-labels and put
them on the LCD, where the color buttons should be. That's almost as
bad as having a hard ANGLE button and putting the Play command on the
LCD...
Or maybe I won't use the MLX at all...another missed opportunity!
Arrgghh,

Well, RTI has it's share of issues too :-)
Actually, I don't think I know of a remote I'd consider "ideal" (I'm
kinda picky), but I wish Crestron's were at least a little closer to
the top...

I have been crying for years that they should just copy the rti
