I agree that the Power Supply may be the issue (although it is not completely dead, which is weird).? good news that it is an external P/S and is easily replaced.
And yes, you can use a different processor as you can see with your temp fix.
The Pac2M has a 2-port cresnet hub on it to balance the device load - Cresnet wants only 20 devices per cresnet Hub/Port.
I'm assuming that you have a panelized system with dimmer modules and keypads, versus an all wireless system - Yes?
If so, how many devices do you have in the lighting system?? Modules, Keypads, etc.
With a pac2M it should max out at about 40 devices (20 per Hub/port). you can push this a bit but having all 40 devices on a single processor without a hub to balance *Can* lead to performance issues...
