If you're still having issues with the LAN cable disconnected, the issue is not network related.
This could be a problem within the processor, or maybe a Cresnet device that is misbehaving - This will likely be hard to trouble-shoot, but once resolved you should be good for another number of years...
It would be interesting to see the uptime and error logs of the Pac2M. do you have access to Crestron Toolbox/Console?? Or know how to establish a console connection with Putty or Hercules?
If so, it would be interesting to see if the Pac2M has been up since you rebooted it, or is it rebooting when the lights go wonky then restore?
