I was thinking I might just add in a few fake boxes to make these gaps, though I assume it would whine about that since they would be missing.
Last night, I adopted 4 units into Director as a test 2x2 matrix.? Routing worked ok, but I wasn't getting any control - that's when I realized that Director's non-knowledge of VC-4 RoomID extended down to the end points. I knew that Director wasn't RoomID aware, so had already linked Director's entry in the VC-4 unassociated devices section.
I guess I had always assumed that all comms to the endpoints ran through Director. Clearly not true, since now that Director has some endpoint loaded up and there are corresponding items in the SIMPL program Director tree - Director pushes its Control System IP address to each endpoint along with a 4 digit IPID... but no RoomID so I now have 4 unallocated devices on VC-4.? ?
That totally blows since that means that I would need to manually set 300 some endpoints with RoomIDs or do the same in Unassociated devices. I Powershelled all the IPIDs for the other hardware, but best I can tell there's no easy way to just add in a RoomID to an existing IP table entry without deleting that entry and ADDMing in the whole entry from scratch. I'm sure someone could script that to pull the old info and rebuild with the RoomID, but I probably couldn't quicker than just sucking it up and doing it by hand.
