I've seen this as well. What you described where the dialogue spawns offscreen is accurate. It took me weeks to get the dialogue back.

Actually hold the press.... it does come up, it just opens the window on a second screen which I am no longer connected to. User interface problem. In any event the window is up but cannot be seen with alt tab or moved into view. So I can run a search by typing and pressing enter but cant see the results. Weak.?
