We are experiencing an issue with HDCP and a very specific setup. We have a small form-factor PC connected to a Crestron HD-DA2-4K-E. Output 1 of the DA goes to a DMPS3-4K-150-C, output 2 of the DA goes to a 1080p monitor. The DM output is connected to the HDBaseT port on an Epson Pro series projector. This way, the local monitor always displays the PC regardless of what is selected on the DMPS.
For the most part, this setup works great for basic presentations, but things go a little haywire with HDCP content. When we start playing HDCP video, the image can be seen through the local monitor and projector. But when you stop the HDCP content, the projector switches to what can only be described as digital snow. The local monitor will sometimes go black, or sometimes it will continue to display the PC. We¡¯ve trace this to the DA and DMPS. Remove the DA, and the problem doesn¡¯t occur. Remove the DMPS, and the problem doesn¡¯t occur.
I¡¯ve tested this with several PC¡¯s and it only seems to happen with onboard Intel HD graphics chipsets. Switching to a PC with Nvidia or AMD Radeon graphics eliminates the issue. I would switch to a different PC if we didn¡¯t have 100+ rooms with this setup installed.
Restarting the DA resolves the problem, flipping the EDID switch resolves the problem.
Has anyone else seen this or have a recommendation for what we can do to remedy the problem?
Thanks in advance.
