¿ªÔÆÌåÓýMy latest article, "Assessing the Latest Generation of Smart Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarms¡± is being published by the good folks at Residential Tech Today Magazine on their web site.
Most people don't think about the smoke alarms in their home until one starts beeping at 2am because the battery is low. However, smoke alarms do wear out and should be replaced every 10 years. In addition, according to the CDC, more than 20,000 Americans visit the emergency room each year from Carbon Monoxide (CO) poisoning. Based on the above, I thought it a good idea to look at the latest generation of smart alarms that detect both smoke and CO. This article looks at three different models being offered today along with how these alarms can be integrated into a smart home for added safety of people who live there.
