Re: Lighting in Simpl from scratch

Regarding the Pyng Smart Graphics:
How have you gotten it to work consistently?
Crestron TB doesn't have any clue how many supported CRPC connections are allowed.
They have stated to me that it wasn't really designed for numerous interfaces.
We recently installed a large project, and we had to scrap all Smart Graphics CRPC connections other than the music server.
This was our initial goal:
  • Processor 1 - PRO3 (Main Client Interfacing Processor)
  • Processor 2 - CP3R (Lights, Shades, Climate)
  • Processor 3 - CP3 (Running multiple programs for security, camera NVR, local weather, pool, awnings, etc.)
When we approached Crestron with this scenario, they said give it a shot and let us know if it works!
They stated that it wasn't designed for anything like this.
In the end, it didn't work.
Way, way, way to many unreliable CRPC connections (4 TSW-1060, 11 TSR-310, iPads, etc.)
We tried limiting the Pyng Smart Graphics to just the large screens ... no go.
How about eliminating climate?? Ugh, no shared infiNET EX gateway support!? Still, no go.
How about eliminating shades too?? No go.
The processors didn't make all of the CRPC connections reliably.

What we had to do is go back to Pyng listen and trigger events.
Luckily, the site has a property manager that uses Crestron Home Setup to manage the lighting scenes because the client wants one interface.
I'd love to know how it has worked for you.? Maybe the project we did was just too large.
However when thinking about a project with over 400 loads, I'd be very afraid of being Crestron's guinea pig.
