I'm of a similar mindset with D3.
Although, the latest project that I did involved a 4-series processor, and it's ridiculously speedy.
It was a Vantage replacement, so that meant every keypad only had a 2 conductor wire.
Giant residential project (over 25,000sq ft) with every "Cameo" style keypad running on 60VDC/infiNET EX.
I was shocked with how responsive it is.
D3 has always built a bloated program with every "what if" possibility for any future anything.
It would be amazing if Crestron stripped all of the VTPro-E crap out of it and turned it into an lighting program only.
Crestron Home is great because of the ability for the client to create and adjust scenes, but lack of a "shared gateway" does suck.
Also, Crestron must provide us with more than just ridiculous "Pyng listen/trigger" events.
I too am looking at totally custom in the future.? Lighting is all just repetition anyways.
