The problem with all Cloud base services is maintaining your tool chain for future use.
When companies started doing subscription base software or required internet activation back years ago, I stopped buying their software because I no longer have a tool chain I can rely on.
When I found that flash was going away several years ago and my CNC milling machine software uses flash, I found a tool chain to replace it with that so I can always use my milling machine.
Microsoft was the only software I used that required internet activation.? But when they started making crap bloated software, I found a replacement that no longer requires Internet activation.
Now Crestron is going the same way and hence I am looking for a replacement for Crestron that does not rely on the cloud nor proprietary subscription base software like Microsoft Visual Studio to program it.? Whether I will find a suitable replacement is yet to be seen.
