Re: Warm Floors without the temp sensor

Is this for electric or for wet Matt?

We had this on a property with wet UFH but it was made worse by the client having timber floors where the guarantee would be voided if the floor temp went over 28 degrees C.

Couldn¡¯t guarantee any reliability with air sensors and couldn¡¯t agree a solution to research wireless stats so ended up with the client paying a M&E specialist to limit the temperature on the boiler supplying the UHF manifolds after testing and trialling which flow temperatures got the floors to which temperatures.

If you¡¯re going under stone or carpet where the floor won¡¯t distort or buckle then look at trying to get a temperature reading at the manifold, or use an air stat in the room and make it a room temperature issue rather than a floor temperature issue.

If you¡¯re running electric you will get warm toes after a 30 min push but wet generally increases / decreases at 1 degree C per hour so you won¡¯t feel any change for a 30 minute push.

You¡¯ll probably also find that your customer won¡¯t want to think 30 minutes in advance to ensure warm toes - they¡¯ll want it instantly so you may be better if agreeing a schedule.
