I haven't used that particular panel but had a similar issue with the access series. When first used I had it communicate over RS232 but after a hard power cycle I had nothing. I tried Christie support but they were useless and pointed me at the RS232 command document so I contacted Vestel support. After a bit of back and forth (including pointing me at the same document), their technical guy got in touch and told me they'd updated the protocol to add a login after power loss but hadn't updated the command documentation for this. Anway, To gain control of the screen again, I had to send the following string: SETUSERSECLEVEL ADMIN 1234\r\n The login is set in the menu somewhere but by default its ADMIN and 1234.
I can't guarantee it'll work for that screen but it's worth a shot. One thing I found was it didn't give any feedback at all to any commands I sent until I sent that string so there was no clues that this was the problem.

From my experience with Christie, most of their device protocols have brackets around commands, I.e. (PWR 0) or (PWR 1) or (PWR?)
