Re: DM Card Sequence

If it shows the correct card: use command?

¡°rcon slot <slot number of problem card> restore y¡±

This will restore that individual card.

What firmware are you running on the chassis?

What does the chassis report for slot numbers and contents running a ¡°dumpdmipcomfig¡± in text console?

Unfortunately no luck. :-(

The lights solidly illuminated means that the card has crashed or failed to boot.
Make sure you flash the latest firmware and do an initialize and restore on the unit after that. See if that solves the issue.

Mine is a 2 series chassis as well. Thanks for all the feedback I hope to get back to this sometime this week.? It¡¯s my home unit so as long as I can keep it operational the family is happy which means troubleshooting when they are otherwise occupied.?

Gave it another try right now and it gives me this in the errorlog:

1. Error: ERROR: No CardReady Signal OPCard Slot23 TimeStamp: 00:00:29 1-01-02 UpTime: 0 days 00:00:28.840 Task: IdleTask
2. Error: Output slot 23 present but card ready timeout TimeStamp: 00:00:29 1-01-02 UpTime: 0 days 00:00:28.840 Task: IdleTask
3. Error: Output slot 24 present but card ready timeout TimeStamp: 00:00:29 1-01-02 UpTime: 0 days 00:00:28.840 Task: IdleTask

By looking through an empty slot right above the 4KZ-card, i noticed that there are just two LEDs illuminated near the card slot, but nothing else. On the other cards, there are a lot more LEDs illuminated during operation.
So i guess this leads more to a hardware failure of the card itself...

Hm, interesting.
I?ve got a similar issue with a 4KZ output card that i installed in my private 8x8 switch.
Problem is i don?t get it to work at all. Even with no other card loaded. There are some messages in the errorlog, so the matrix detects sth but can?t initialize the card.
I?ve got a 4KZ input card that works without a problem.

The order does not matter, however I have had three or four instances with a mix of 4kz and non 4kz hardware that did not behave properly. Honestly did not get much help from true blue but didn¡¯t escalate as I only had time to just work around the trouble.

The order shouldn't matter -- it least I haven't had issues with other cards.? Sounds like a firmware bug to me.? You might want to call tech support and see what they say.? If nothing else, just to report the issue.

Given that, I haven't done the exact thing you are doing but I did recently have issues with audio streams with the new DM-xxx-CPU3 chassis and 4KZ cards.? For me, the fix was to downgrade the DM firmware to v3.00.26 -- but that took 4 or 5 calls to Crestron before they suggested doing that.? That however was not an easy task. The first two methods the Crestron gave me? to downgrade firmware did not work.? The third call and procedure did down grade the firmware but landed up bricking two of the room boxes.? That took another few phone calls to Crestron before they figured out how to unbrick them.? All total, I probably wasted 40 hours on the phone with Crestron before the issue was resolved fully.?

So if it was me, if you know that changing the order of the cards fixes the issue, I would do that.? Otherwise, you could land up spending a whole lot more time trying to getting it to work in your current configuration.

Good luck,
Steve

Is there an order you need to install DM cards in?? I have some 4kz-hd cards first then standard 4k-hd cards (All HDCP2) followed by 4K Non HDCP2 then straight HD.? When I add additional 4kz cards in the later slots suddenly my other 4kz-hd and 4k-hd cards no longer show as installed same for the output cards until I get to 4k-HDO.? If I pull the new 4kz cards from the last slots everything works.?

The new cards seem to work, everything in on the newest firmware in both scenarios.? ReportDM show the same as the front panel and DMTool in both cases.

I was hoping I didn't have to move and re-sequence cards but it's looking like that.?

Thanks
Jay
