Hi folks,
I'm not a Crestron programmer but have been maintaining and enhancing my Crestron system (AV2) for years and have "reasonable" skills in Simpl, VT-Pro, etc.
I have been using the Crestron App on a number of devices (previously iPhones, currently android smart phones and tablet and a Surface Pro 4). I have just added the android tablet but can't get it to connect. Having now explored my ethernet settings in Toolbox to get it to connect, I'm now really confused, particularly about port numbers.
The Crestron App devices are on IP IDs 03 to 06 as shown . I have configured the CIP port numbers for each device in the Crestron App starting at 41794 for ID03 up to 41797 for ID06. These configurations settings are working for ID03, ID04 and ID05, but the android tablet on ID06 won't connect (I get the message "connecting to control system", then "attempting reconnect", but it never connects).
My confusion here is related to the port numbers. As shown , I have set up ethernet addressing in the control system with CIP port 41794 and CTP port 41795 (I'm using 8081 as the HTTP due to a conflict with another program on my network). But, as shown ?in the IP Table Set up, all of the devices are connecting at Port 41794 (including the old x-panel connection on ID08). I would have thought the CIP port numbers in the IP table would have corresponded with the port numbers I used in the app configurations on the devices.
My questions are:
- why don't these port numbers correspond?
- It's been a long time since I originally set this up, so I can't remember how I allocated, for example, CIP port number 41794 to the Galaxy Note that is on ID03, and I can't see anything in any of the configurations settings in either Simpl or VT-Pro to do that.
- Given that port 41795 is defined as an CTP port in ethernet addressing, and that I can't see where 41796 and 41797 are defined at all, how come they are working (apart from the new android tablet)?
Any help will be greatly appreciated,
Mark
