Re: Cisco SX80

Something to note is the Cisco strongly discourages the use of the remote emulation commands in the API. They say that everything that the on-screen display does uses the same API as what is in the API document and to not make the user look at 2 screens for their control.

My coworker and I are working on this module with Crestron. There will be a new version coming out shortly and the IR emulation will disappear. If you send the IR emulation commands, the SX80 will respond with an acknowledgement, but it won't actually do anything. There's a long back-story as to why the commands are in there, but they will not be there with the next version. :)

The module is not 100% perfect, so I would recommend updating to the new version when it comes out.?

Another thing to note with the SX80 - there is no on-screen display. If you want to make configuration changes, you will need to use the Cisco TP, or the CODEC's webpages. It helps if you think of controlling it more like a phone call. We are having to do some serious redesigns of how our touch panels work with these things.?
