Yeah I had it set to 01 when I was using the MDC software and I tried changing it to 00 and 02 when using Hercules just to make sure it wasn't something off with the ID.

Have you set an address in the display?
?
The default is 00, and I¡¯ve found displays can be ¡°wonky¡± if left at default (the specific wonkiness depends greatly on the specific display and firmware rev) ¨C 01 has worked well for me for the past 6-7 years (before then sometimes you needed 00, sometimes you needed 01, sometimes you needed a ¡°Broadcast¡± command, sometimes you needed a command targeted at a specific ID)

What was latest on this issue, were you able to get this working? I just got a couple of these in and am experiencing the same results. I have connected directly to the display using the providing rs232 - 1/8" stereo connector. I can connect with with MDC software and I can power it on and change inputs but power off does not work. I've tried sending commands via Hercules and I'm using the commands from the manual but I'm not having success.
Thanks,
?
The specs on Samsung's site show that as being a commercial signage display with a normal DB-9 RS232 port...
If this is the display you have and you've been trying to throw EX-Link style commands at it, you're not going to get far.
Aside from the already available modules, the manual (also on the site) shows the basics of the MDC protocol.
