roll it into a module with an MSP in it . . .
Good call! As I was calling each module from a crosspoint I ended up using the crosspoint in use digital to poke an extra leg on my module which 'refreshed' the serial outs. MSP in a module would have been easier. I'll remember that one.

Subject: [Crestron] Make String Permanent in Simpl+
Hi All,
I'm going mad in my old age, I'm sure I read once that there was a prefix
or similar that could be used in Simpl+ so that when making a string_output
it could be declared permanent as if you had hooked a Make String Permanent
symbol on the output leg.
I am running a particular module over 200 instances and would rather like to
declare the outputs permanent in code rather than tying MSP symbols to each
output leg. I know it isn't going to save memory, but it'll sure save time!
As I said, it might not exist, but I'm sure I read it somewhere.... cannot
find it for love nor money though.
I guess if it doesn't exist I could always add a refresh leg to re-propagate
the information on demand (IE when selected with the crosspoint).
Any help or pointers much appreciated
Colin
