Your command is almost correct. Remove the space between GET and D so that it reads GETD. You also need to specify the channel number after the instance ID number. The full command should read:
GETD 1 OUTLVL 21 3 /x0a
That command will give you a "full path response" that will look like:
#GETD 1 OUTLVL 21 3 -23.234555
If you are asking for the volume of channel 3. It will always respond with a 6 decimal place value.
Are you using the modules? They form those strings for you if you are.
