Some interesting if a bit off-putting news from Crestron that some of you may/may not be aware of:
The new Core3 environment will be heading towards good ol' C# (sandboxed) with the express intent of vastly widening up the talent pool available for integrators.
Most of you are already familiar with this in some form or fashion, but the way it was communicated to me left me with the impression that the field of "Crestron" programmers is about to be awash in IT kids that have no real grasp on AV or overall custom UI's.
Some of the increased capabilities look promising though: Most notable to me was the CDS Crestron Design Studio software suite that will be replacing current MasterInstaller supplied programs VTProE, Toolbox, etc. Also, new XPanels will be browser agnostic, no activeX necessary!
Some really cool new panels out too. Who else is here at the show?
