Its mounted just inside the tire off of a small bracket below the frame of the rear passenger side on mine. I no longer use it but here's a pic of the bracket.?

The car is drivable and has a clear title. It has many new items¡ªvinyl top,front &rear window with seals,u,pholstered seats,windshield wiper,washer,12v wiper motor,floor carpet,combination turn,horn and dimmer switch,all lightssome wiring,rear tires,rear brake cylinders. Has a crack on each side between roof and hood. Small penny size hole near left headlight. Both bumpers have been rebuilt. Charger is newer auto styl.???? My car came with the 48V charger under the passenger's seat and a Sears 12V battery charger under the driver's seat with a 12V battery behind it.?? Both chargers were tied into the charging port.

I had the two white-ish wires going to the contactors reversed so when I fixed that I hit 35 miles per hour within the first 200 feet.? The schematic shows a blue and orange wire and mine were both various shades of white.

Great to hear!? 10mph is slow though. Are you getting the series/parallel contact switching at pedal position 3? Or the resistor bypass at position 2??

So I hooked up the new 12v Accessory battery and it made all the difference.? Adjusted the ignition key so it works great.? Turned it on and Click, Contactor sound.? Turned the switch to Forward and touched the gas and going backward.? Turn the switch to reverse and goes Forward.? Took it down the street and max speed about 10 mph. Took the F/R contactor and on the side is 4 wires.? Two black and two are shades of white.? Switched to two white ones and forward goes forward and reverse goes reverse and I have full speed again..? Very happy and everything is working.

Sorry to have been away.? My Linux system caught some of that
communist-originated malware that's been in the news and took my whole
system down.? It was good enough to write malware to the BIOS, the SSD
firmware, the video firmware and when I connected my phone, it got wiped
too.? It came in through firefox, I think.

The key switch is just an on/off switch. ?Look for key switch spst. Replacing it is a simple job, but make sure you disconnect all power sources 12v and 18v) before removing the two wires, as they tend to come in contact with random parts once removed.? Tom Keenan

Good to hear you are finding your problems. The ignition switch can be replaced with others. There is no main relay normally so get a switch that can take some amps. Mine is not stock I don't think as it has a start position and terminal that I have nothing run to.?
