Re: What price?

Mine was 2k running with batteries included, alright shape. Not all orginal and not undamaged. The owner before bought it needing batteries and did not know if it was running but ran when parked for 800. I did not haggle the guy because he was helpful and pleasant for the transaction. I put 5k and about 400 hrs into a rebuild with modern everything and complete new wiring. So I am 7k in and my time. If I was going to sell I would probably get 4k and take a few months to sell it.?
From running into people, they love it, smile, want to sit in it, and look puzzled when they find out what they cost to make it reliable.?
It is a hard market to sell one of these.

As a relatively new entrant into the C-Car world, I believe the price list posted is close to accurate. I have wanted a C-Car for years and kept a close eye on them on eBay and locally. The prices shown are close to what I was seeing in the wild, and within $100 of what I paid for my 1980 model just last year.?

?

Super cool little cars, so, of course, folks are going to be proud of them and value them as such. That said,? there are two prices, what *you* think it's worth, and what the market deems appropriate. In all things, these numbers rarely align.

?

I saw a pristine yellow 1976 with 50 miles on it go for $2.5k just last year. That was a deal but should put things into perspective.?

Thanks. This is exactly what I needed. My car is between a 4 or 5 , so I would happy asking/getting $1000.00 for it. I do have a question "???? ? ?Could you give me an idea on how much it is for a complete set of breaks with a new master cylinder? Thanks again, Lloyd.

I am in Fort Smith Arkansas. The car is all original, no modifications or upgrades. The previous owner said the car was running when he parked it, (10 years ago). I have done nothing but clean it up. It does have the 6hp motor and I do have a clear title. Mileage is 4155. Thanks. Lloyd.

Re: What price?

I've seen this PDF before and I question the pricing.? I don't know how you arrived at the car values or how long ago it was done. They just seem low across the board.

Restoring a car that rated #4 to #2 would certainly cost more than $900 (in my case).? My guess you could almost add 30% to these prices and come close to the value in today's dollars.

Bart

What price is right.

This is probably the best place to start.
What are the details about it. What’s the location of it. And is it the original contacts or did you upgrade to an electric controller?

But most importantly what city is it in?

What price ?

Hello All, I am moving and must sell my 1981 Comutacar but haven’t a clue as to what it worth. It needs brakes, batteries, and accelerator work. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Lloyd.

Re: What batteries do I need?

It's worth noting I have a 77 transitional car.? I lack the hump and bracing of a commutacar, so my batteries are under seat, controller in back like a Citicar, but I have the 6hp and running gear of a commutacar. Long story short, I did not change the location of the contactor, although I did change it's position a half inch or so.
I'm glad to help with whatever I can during your conversion. It is much more pleasant to drive and I've put 1400 miles in a year on it with the conversion so far.?

Re: What batteries do I need?

I don't have any drawings, I just used alltrax directions... But, the f/r contactor needs some rewiring on the control side. I have it set up so the keyswitch runs a solenoid ( I used my old solenoid from the resistor circuits) basically it has a 12v coil. So keyswitch turns it "on". The secondary circuit I have it switching 48v for the alltrax to turn on, and for the footswitch on the pb-6. That runs back to the alltrax. 2nd thing to do is to change the wiring so that fnr contactor actually switches with the switch, rather than the switch then the gas pedal. The goal is to have key on, and when fnr is selected the contacts move.? The new main solenoid does the footswitch now, not the fnr solenoid. Confused?? Let me know and I'll try and clear up any questions. I attached a couple pics of how it looks.?

That can vary depending on many things, wind, temp, braking, tire pressure, passenger, phase of moon, mood I'm in.

It's the farthest my batteries take me safely, but it is dangerous close and no big hill at the end.??
