Any time you would like to see it is fine with me. I am also retired and
around most of the time.
Mine is 48v and somewhat different than a C-Car. Batteries in mine are 4-6v
batteries in the front bumpers and 4-6v batteries in the rear bumper. I have
changed to solid state controller, with new main controller and new F/R
controller.

To answer your question, many have tried to switch to a more modern break system but none have been quite successful, so far.? The early 1974-5 CitiCar¡¯s actually had front disc brakes but the change to 4 wheel drum brakes with dual master cyl worked much better. ?
