There are several python script that supposedly extract yahoo group data into JSON.
I haven¡¯t had much luck last nigh trying to backup another certain group, but i haven't tried for a long time (per script's author, i need to enter my yahoo cookie into the script to make it work). If anyone's willing to tinker with it, let me know.

I feel the same way: if we could upgrade the system and keep the old content, or at least make a new place as the go-to CCar forums, that would be great.?

Oh, I'd really hate to see this shutdown. So much valuable info placed here over the years...

If I were to setup a hosted forum elsewhere at no cost to anyone, would that be of any interest?
I'd try to download the existing forum and attempt to restore it to the new host.
