Re: Insurance for CCars: Your experience?

Congratulations on being almost road ready.?
I use hagerty for my Citi and have been happy. Their towing is beyond the range of a charge, and they offer some neat events in their drivers club.? My father in law switched to Grundy with his mustang and is also happy. Neither of us have made any claim to date though.?

Hi All,

I'm getting close to having my Comuta ready to "daily drive" the 2.5 mile commute to work. At the moment however, it's unregistered and not insured, so I haven't driven it much besides around the block.

I don't want to pay full-on normal car insurance for it, since (especially for me, at 19) it's expensive, and I'll barely drive the CCar except when the weather is nice. My insurance agency offers a "classic/antique car" insurance option, with requirements that the car is in "decent" condition, is being or has been restored, and is kept in a garage.

What are your experiences with insurance on your CCars, and what would you recommend?

Thanks!
