Thought I'd touch base. Have a 1981 Comutacar and a '76 Citicar. Have
had the '81 running and registered. Have a Golftech
72V 400A Curtis 1205 upgrade. Have been having numerous failures
under warranty. Have just voided my warranty
by taking the unit out of the case and will mount it on a finned heat
exchanger inside a piece of 6" pvc pipe with a 24V 6" muffin
type fan on while the unit is running. The car runs like butter at
72V with golfcart type tires. Much more stable and
does not feel like a death trap. Will be another couple weeks before
getting it running.
Has anyone else had a rash of problems with Curtis controllers. Have
all the attendant surge and arc suppressors. Failures
seem to be temperature related. Hey, it was interesting to get inside
the unit anyway.
