I found that the 7300 needs a little more commands to control the mode like USB-D
can someone explain the different options available. ?like P123, R1.. I assume R1 is for the radio number but I have to find a document that goes into more detail then the info below
Supported Radios:
Kenwood TS590S/SG ICOM IC7100 ICOM IC7200 ICOM IC7300 ICOM IC7410 ICOM IC7600 Yaesu FT991/991A
If you are running a Sound Card Modem using the internal soundcard and PACTOR (or other TNC Modes) using the AUX connector the input to the modulator has to be changed depending on which is transmitting. As the Soundcard TNC sends PTT ON and PTT OFF commands to the application, these can be used to switch the input source. To enable this add PTT_SETS_INPUT to the RIGCONTROL config, eg
RIGCONTROL COM8 19200 ICOM IC7100 88 PTT_SETS_INPUT ?6,14.110,usb,F1,d,P123,R1 ?6,28.110,usb,F1,d,P123,R1 ****
THanks in advance

P123 is Pactor 1, 2, or 3
P23 is Pactor 2 & 3 only.
P34 is Pactor 3 and 4 only.
R1 is Robust Packet 300
R2 is Robust 600
vn is Vara 500hz
vw is Vara 2300
vt is Vara 2750

This only applies if you are running a sound card modem and a
hardware TNC on the same radio. If you only use VARA or other sound
card modes you just set Data mode modulation source to USB and leave
it there.
PTT_SETS_INPUT is used to switch modulation source between AUX and
USB if you have a Pactor TNC attached to the AUX port.

thanks but without the PTT_SETS_INPUT my radio stays in USB and not USB-D and I get no signal to the internal card of the 7300
I found that I need the following to get my setup to work
Also since I am not currently scanning is their a way to set the frequency and not have it poll the radio I see when I set it to 5 you can see the mode switch every 5 seconds between usb and USB-D
Thanks

You can send RADIO commands from the node or a BBS forwarding
script.
Can't you just leave the radio in USB-D?

If you are not scanning you can comment out the scan lines.? Then manually set your radio to the frequency and mode desired.? It will never change.
?
As long as you are scanning it will switch between data and not.
?
And John mentioned PTT_SETS_INPUT.? On my install I need that because I have both Pactor and Vara ports.? Do you have any hardware TNC ports?? If not you should be able to use PTT CAT or PTT CI-V instead and it may minimize or eliminate switching between modes like that.? In the end, whatever works for you...
