Re: Winlink Gateway question

The -10 in was a test done months ago. When I made the RMS Gateway I no longer used ssid -10 in APRS, only in Winlink CMS.

The other thing that confuses me is that it appears that you are using PY1XTA-10 as an APRS client on your android phone?? Might be that you cannot do that because picks up the Winlink gateways also.? It is confusing if it sees the same call sign for different applications.? Maybe I'm reading incorrectly.

I can't remove the -10 because it's my Sysop callsign in Winlink. I thought about adding the -10 as Auxiliary Callsign.

Ok. My Winlink account is PY1XTA and my CMSCALL is PY1XTA-10. This is my application line:

APPLICATION 3,RMS,C 5 CMS,PY1XTA-10,XTARMS,255

All Winlink connections works fine. Really don't understand the dll error msg.

Or, you have a configuration where you are routing gateway connections through your user record Winlink check feature, although that is very unlikely.

Re: Mercury?

I tried to get it to do anything mostly ARQ mode, using the mercury.exe (windows). I did not have much luck yet.

Two things that are concerns for me.

1) It gets crowded around HF packet and it appears at this time it only does wide bandwidth, unlike VARA which you can force to 500Hz 2) I could not get the ARQ socket to bind to a tcp socket.

The test system was windows 10.

So I tried to reach out to the author to see what next.

Hi,

Has anyone tried mercury modem yet? It is supposedly a 'vara' compatible client. So curious if it'd work in BPQ the same way VARA does. I looked at this a month or two ago but was not sure if it'd get to release level. But it looks like it has.

Well Im off to try it. With any luck maybe it'll work.

The problem I had with connecting is *not* related to the callsign, maybe. Before I was going through a digipeater but now that I'm home I can connect directly, still over the radio, and everything seems to work correctly including YAPP.

YAPP still fails when I am connecting to my BBS over telnet so I continue to troubleshoot that.
