I think you are more experienced than me so likely have already checked, but what does the BBS Log show.? Any errors will show there.

Yeah, I said K9CTD earlier, I meant K9CTB....

Jerry,

K9CTD showed up in my MHeard list almost a week ago.? I installed a MAP line and it connected and has been stable ever since.? Even put in forwarding rules and he has been accepting messages since.

Not sure that is any help to you but you are welome to forward me anything to test or whatever you need.? If I can be of assistance let me know.

Real close to getting a few errors fixed.

I can connect to him and transfer files over VARA just fine.?

Not sure what I am doing wrong. A manual connect works fine.?

*** Connected to APPL

Can LinBPQ connect to a custom application silently? When I use the , LinBPQ transmits "*** Connected to APPL\r" to the AX.25 client, before anything the application transmits. The client sees:
?
cmd:c w6jmk-1
cmd:*** CONNECTED to W6JMK-1
*** Connected to APPL
Hello, KM6LQZ. Enter B to disconnect.
?
How can I prevent transmitting that "Connected to APPL" message? It doesn't come from the application.
?
I'm running linbpq 32-bit version 6.0.24.42, on Ubuntu 64-bit version 20.04.6 LTS on x86 hardware. My bpq32.cfg file is attached.

I suggest you update the the latest versions of bpq32 and linbpq (6.0.24.42) from my beta download area. If you are running on Windows I suggest you update BPQMail.exe and BPQChat.exe as well as bpq32.dll as there may be incompatibly with older versions.

The latest source in in my git repositories.

I will issue a new installer for Windows a soon a possible but that may take a few days.

Re: AGWPE emulator with multiple radios

As a different test case, I tried separate TNCs. I mean, for each radio there's a separate process running Direwolf. These processes communicate with LinBPQ via separate TCP/IP ports. With this configuration, I see the same problem. That is, the server disconnects via one radio when it should disconnect via the other.
?
I'm running linbpq 32-bit version 6.0.24.42, on Ubuntu 64-bit version 20.04.6 LTS on x86 hardware.

AGWPE emulator with multiple radios

Can you help me use LinBPQ's AGWPE emulator to communicate via multiple radios? I'm having trouble: connections from different KISS ports go to the same AGW port. I mean the same port number within AGW frames (not the TCP/IP port number).
?
As a test case, I configured LinBPQ to access two ports of one KISS TNC via TCP/IP. These two KISS ports represent two radios operating on different frequencies. I ran a server that connects to LinBPQ's AGWPORT and listens for connections on both KISS channels. I connected via AX.25 to one radio, and the server received the connection as it should.
?
But when I connected via AX.25 to the other radio, things went wrong. The SABM came from a different KISS TNC port (as it should), but the AGWPE client received a connection with the same AGW port as the first connection. Then I sent some data via AX.25 that should cause the server to disconnect the second connection, but it caused the server to disconnect the first connection. (I'm not very surprised, since from the server's point of view there's only one connection.)
?
It seems like packets from different KISS ports are routed to the same AGW port 0.
?
Should I configure LinBPQ differently? My current bpq32.cfg file is attached.
?
The KISS TNC is Direwolf. I've attached a log of all the KISS frames (from Direwolf), a log of all the AGW frames (from my server) and the Direwolf configuration file.

I agree.? I have verified, mutiple times that his UDP port is open so I do not believe that to be the problem. I have seen, when he does connect, that only one node appears, K7OI-5 without an alias.? In the Routes his connection shows with a Remote Quality of 0.? But looking at the BBS logs on connection his response is:
?
OINODE:K7OI-5} Connected to BBS
?? ?? [BPQ-6.0.24.31-B2FWIHJM$]

So, he does have a node alias, it's just not sending his node information.? That's the reason I thought about the Quality, UDP, and Broadcast Nodes statements.

Re: UPDATING BPQ 32 from 6.0.23.1 to BETA

Setup a tcp packet capture to listen on inbound axudp traffic port.
Narrow it down to the remote side IP and see if anything is even coming in.

Often with non BPQ systems, or some ISP routers, the source port is not as expected.
