You could do this with applmask back in boqcode days. And you still can with tnc2 emulator but I don't think you can with a telnet /host style application. It does see a bit superfluous to send that if it also has an RF callsign+ssid

How can I prevent transmitting that "Connected to APPL" message? It doesn't come from the application.

I'm running linbpq 32-bit version 6.0.24.42, on Ubuntu 64-bit version 20.04.6 LTS on x86 hardware. My bpq32.cfg file is attached.
