Re: Jnos to bpq over axip on aredn

To the group,

Since I am the other end of Joey's axudp link, I can answer the questions that were posed. And yes, it is an axudp link, not axip (Sorry Charles). And, keep in mind that Joey *was* able to connect over the link and access my BBS. Thus, the link has vital signs of life.

> Does the jnos box have a reciprocal udp interface set up to communicate with the bpq node on 10093?
Yes, the interface is set up and is identical to a similar working link with a bbs in Wisconsin.

> Does your node show up on the jnos box when user issues the N command?
This would be true if both ends were running NetRom. NetRom in itself is not a requirement for two BBS's to communicate with each other. In some respects, it makes life more difficult.

> What does the user get? Timeout error? Or access denied?
When I try to connect to Joey, I simply get a timeout. I should mention that I see some activity from him over the link in the j heard list for that interface.

Trying...? The escape character is: CTRL-T

> Is the user in your ftpusers file in /jnos?
Joey is in the ftpusers file. On one connection into jnos he actually sent me a message. So that part works.

> Also, are you allowing udp 10093 through your home router firewall and pointing to bpq box?
Not applicable since both stations are on a common, private network, the Amateur Mesh network. The Internet does not come into play with this connection.

My perspective is that Joey needs some help with permissions on his end and how to handle incoming connections. Unfortunately, I don't know BQP that well to offer him any help.
