Andy analogue filtering needs to be quite slow to remove that kind
of noise. In the 2000s I was doing similar recording on 136kHz, and
most of the noise was distant lightning. I chose to take 6 readings
at 2 sec intervals and only save the lowest which became the reading
for the mid point of the 6 readings. This was based on the idea that
there may be gaps between the strikes. However ideally the filtering
before digitisation should not be too narrow because that will
spread the width of the pulses. This is not usually provided as a
filter so you may need to experiment with you receiver and software
to use it. I found RSP only provided averaging which is not the best
solution.

Does anyone else use Radio Sky Pipe for
recording output of UKRAA SID monitors? If so, how long an
integration time do you use? I was using 5 seconds but still
quite noisy. Should I use 10 secs or even 30 secs?
?
