U3A Zoom Course R09, Course notes are now posted

 

G'day all,

The course notes for John Chapter 12 are now posted at?

As next week is the final scheduled week this term, we will continue with the Gospel of John via Zoom in Term 4.? Please enroll at the U3A Brisbane website.? Thanks.

Prior to the start of today's session, I noticed my computer's memory on C-Drive filling up again so I went through the steps that the "pros" from Singapore went through last week and squeezed out a few gigabytes of memory.? As I was about to sign on to Zoom for the session, I noticed something interesting: I had inadvertently stumbled across the "Holy Grail" of wasted computer memory and in just a few minutes opened up over 60 GB of memory, thus solving my problem.? What's more, I both know which specific folders to check periodically in the future to prevent the problem from recurring, but I also have some additional ideas of other computer files to check for similar problems.? Now I really feel a bit better.

G'day all,

Thank you for another successful term at U3A for R09 What the Bible is About.? A good outcome for the course is for each participant to re-read the Gospel of John at your own pace and in your own time with a better understanding of and appreciation for John's message.? If you can, pick a quiet place and time and reads the words aloud.

The emotive and personal words in this gospel speak to the heart, as well as the head if the reader allows.? John promotes the Deity of Jesus Christ and the believer's relationship with God the Father through Him.? Jesus is promoted as the 'Good Shepherd' and the 'Light of the World' because He is someone who identifies with and deeply cares for us and the trials that we go through as individuals.

John wrote this gospel for mature believers. The first twelve chapters lay out a definitive picture for them of who Jesus is and the salvation and peace that a relationship with Him can bring.? Many believers consider the Gospel of John to be a special book and real treasure that can speak directly to their needs in dark times by connecting directly to God's love.? The next time you despair of worldly things or find yourself questioning your own mortality, please consider making time to read John Chapters 1-12.
