Hi Mandy, All believers?are one in Christ, sharing in God's promise to Abraham. Sarah and her son Isaac shared in God's promise and were used as an allegory for belief in God and His Promise (justification by faith in Christ).? Hagar and Ishmael were not believers, but the meaning here is that they were used as an allegory for worldly legalism and the law.? So Paul's message was to cast out legalism and adopt faith.
