Bench master?

If you're any closer to the rust belt than I am you have another option.
For years we of the Benchmaster persuasion have called these alternately Bench-Ports or Bridge-Masters.

It isn't just the marriage of the Bridgeport and the Benchmaster. In Daniel's case it included a well thought out repair of the M head castings.

I can confirm his decision to press and turn the arm. The forever Loc-Tite is a wonderful thing. If you have ten ton plus it becomes redundant but the method is sound.

On word of information about the M head Bridgeport. Some heads were high speed. I'm including this as a cautionary note but that that spindle requires a bit more thought than the normal one if you intend to use the extra RPM.

It seems a long way to go to get just a few inches of quill but in the end it's worth it if you don't have to give an arm and a first born for the M head.

Yes that is a home made unit. Holds
15 collets mostly imperial with some metric in the smallest sizes. Holds the vise wrench, collet wrench and a 1/4" socket wrench with a custom socket to tighten the tables plus a little table on top to put things I'm working with. Made a custom handle for the spindle as the original was junk. Not a lot of table to spindle so I use short tools and stubby drills. I made a custom boring head that screws directly on the ER20 spindle to gain about a inch when boring.

I like the collet holder. Is that homemade?

Here's my Benchmaster with a Rotex vertical head. I did convert the y collet spindle to a ER20 spindle.
