I have an update for everyone about the question I asked about making a
table for my milling attachment. This afternoon I finished making an
adapter that fits onto the stub of the milling attachment and has a 1 1/2" 8
TPI thread on the other end to accept the standard face plate or one of the
chucks. Now I have a good size (8" dia.) milling table to use. The adapter
is 3.250" diameter with two locking screws with pins like the other
Atlas/Craftsman design vise. I marked the outside surface every 30 degrees
so I can swing the table (face plate) for alignment purposes using the scale
on the milling attachment. Now I need to find a nice 3" or 4" mill vise
that will work standing on end. Any suggestions?
Thank you Bob Tonkins for your advice in this and for lending me the
threading gauge. If anyone is interested in a copy of the plan for this
adapter, just let me know and I will fax it to you.
