Hey All,
Newbie here, looking for some help please.
I know this thread is a couple years old but hoping someone will reply.
I'm in the middle of replacing bearings in my old Craftsman 101.03622 drill press, and this thread has been very helpful.
I have the quill all disassembled (waiting on bearings I ordered), and now I am working getting the spindle pulley/sleeve apart.
I'm not sure what holds it all together, so I'm asking before I use too much brute force and destroy something.
There is a setscrew in one of the pulley grooves, and I assume that after loosening it the pulley should slide off the sleeve
and I can then access a retainer on the top bearing?
At this point I cannot get the pulley to budge, is it keyed? or is it a tight press-fit, do I need to heat it a bit?
(@ starjump, how did you get this apart?)
Regards,
