Yes, exactly!? That why they are called "dust covers".? Their
purpose is to keep swarf from getting into the bearings.? They may
actually trap just a LITTLE bit of oil that would otherwise ooze
out, but that's not what they are there for.? Obviously, looking at
the way they are made and fit, there's no WAY they could function as
a SEAL to retain oil.
