Re: 10" tailstock on a 12" Craftsman lathe?

As I think that I mentioned earlier at least indirectly, the same 10D-603 tailstock was used on the 10¡± and 12¡± lever operated tailstocks and tailstock turrets.? So actually four accessories, albeit I¡¯m sure that all were limited production.

??? ??? Wow, a separate casting for a limited production accessory! Those were "The Good Old Days!" I

have tinkered with the design of a capstan feed tailstock but with the capability of having a driven spindle

for deep hole drilling. So far just an adapted wood lathe tailstock and parts from an old boat steering rack

and pinion.??? ??? ??? Bill in Boulder CO USA

Just to follow on Robert¡¯s description , for those of you who may not have seen one given its comparative rarity , here¡¯s a pic of a lever action tailstock . . .?

Comes in handy occasionally . . . like when you have to drill out 200 crimping sleeves ?:>( :>(
