Yes, I rebuilt the Rockwell drill press, I believe it is circa mid 70's.
Good eye on the Albrecht Chuck.? I picked it up used and ordered a.rebuild kit.? There is virtually no run out in the DP/ chuck combo.
I will be hunting for a 3/4" Albrecht chuck soon.? I bought a 20" Jet Drill press that was abused and am rebuilding it now.? I will rebuild the 3/4" Jacobs chuck it came with also.
I also have a Powermatic 14"? bandsaw I bought from Fort Worth middle school woodshop and am going to rebuild it.
Thanks for the compliments.? I love rebuilding and making things new.

Hi Jody,
Nice looking lathe!
I saw the other pic pre chip pan with covers open, nice.
Drill press looks good too. Albrecht keyless chuck? I have my grandfathers old Homecraft drill press, had a mortising attachment and spindle. Made a new spindle to fit the spare 1/2" Albrecht chuck I had along with a new quill depth stop.

Good point Carvel.I hate material getting under the headstock and pulling all that out from under there.
That'd a good idea, I'll have to do that. That way I can pull out the shop vac less often.
Here is a pick with my big drip pan.

Jody ¨C looks good
Just a tip ¨C if you want to keep your lathe nice and clean ¨C is to put a baking tray within the drip dray under the chuck area to catch the bulk of the drips and swarf ¨C easy to pull out and empty when needed. . . .? or use a layer of kitchen foil for the same purpose? . .?
Have fun ,

I have the original cast iron legs made for the 101.07403 (12x24) with a maple top
Not sure if top is original but it is probably close 2" thick.
See picture.? I've since installed a drip pan underneath the entire lathe.

They recommend 2" dense hardwood. Some have gotten away with 1.75 and others have poured concrete the thickness of a 2x4.

The Spec's only said "wood top", any idea how thick the top is?
