Re: wafer fabrication/photolithography in Michigan?

Hi, Roger,?

I was confused by the adjacency of water and wafer, but I think I get it now? The acquaintance is hoping to create or acquire wafers for chips to help in the safe water fight here, similar to what they've done in Silicon Valley. Yes? ?

The short answer is yes, the semiconductor industry in Michigan is strong. Several companies are listed here:
<.>
and here:
<>?
and a more comprehensive list of the overall semiconductor industry in Michigan here:
<>?
and

There are likely to be contacts here with excellent information about the industry,?

Other possibilities to contact include:

Ann Arbor:
<>?

Bay City/Auburn
<>?
<>?

This place is NOT in Michigan, but has online sales:

There may be more. Explore yourself with this Google search string:

The University of Michigan is located on the traditional territory of the Anishinaabe people.? In 1817, the Ojibwe, Odawa, and Bodewadami Nations made the largest single land transfer to the University of Michigan.? This was offered ceremonially as a gift through the Treaty at the Foot of the Rapids so that their children could be educated.? Through these words of acknowledgement, their contemporary and ancestral ties to the land and their contributions to the University are renewed and reaffirmed.

Videos I mentioned at lunch yesterday

Here are links to the videos I mentioned during lunch yesterday.

First, two videos about creating images using AI. Both are particulary
focused on how AI can be used to create images that can look like
different things when mutated in some way, including turning upside
down, rearranging squares in the image, overlaying several transparent
images, and creating a puzzle that can be assembled two different ways
to produce two different images. I suggest watching them in the order
below:

Steve Mould: This new type of illusion is really hard to make:

Stand-up Maths: How can a jigsaw have two distinct solutions?:

I also briefly mentioned this video about the discovery and
categorization of (all) the noble gases by William Ramsay together with
lord Rayleigh for which he won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1904.
Rayleigh received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1904 for his part in the
work.

Chemistorian: The Incredible Discovery of the LEAST Reactive Elements
(The Noble Gases):

Re: looking forward to lunch today at Dalat

8 for lunch, prices very reasonable ($10-$12 for the
lunch special), looks like a good place to go back to.

I will note that the messages in this group have crossed
the 13000 mark, the one I'm replying to is #13550 .
