here's a non-summary of the lunch with Jeff and Anjali.
Jeff and Anjali are visiting from Seattle for a couple
of days; they flew into Grand Rapids and will be heading
back tomorrow.
Jeff has been practicing his oud and entertained us not
with music but with an account of the various rhythms
and tunings he has needed to learn to play it.
This was Anjali's first time having bi bim bop and she
made a good go of it.
Sam is back from Shanghai (three weeks) and he reports
that it's way more capitalist there than anywhere here.
Kat has recently enjoyed some Buster Keaton movies - I
didn't catch the title but it was the one where he did
all of his own stunts on a moving train.
Lou was kind enough to lend me money for lunch, so I
owe him one in return.
