Many of you
are Facebook friends and people I actively connect with
there. I just wanted to let you that Facebook deleted my
account last weekend. The stated cause is that I am
supposedly misrepresenting myself under a false identity.
I appealed, and they denied the appeal.?
As I've been
talking with other people, I've been informed that people
who post Jewish activist content or content in support of
Israel are disproportionately having their FB accounts
deleted. I don't have data, and I don't know if it's true.
Coincidentally, my last two actions prior to account
deletion were:
1) sharing
someone else's post about the history of the song "Strange
Fruit" having been written by a Jewish activist;?
2) resetting
my profile pic to a photo of me taking the aliyah at
Temple the day before, in kippah, tallit, and magen.??
In any case,
you all have my email address, so if you need to reach me
you know how. I just wanted to let you know that you can
no longer reach me via FB. I get most of my reference
questions for work via FB, so that's why I'm trying to let
people know.?
