I had a similar experience today (including failed text code and weird email code timing) before learning of the outage. I apparently was never successful in getting my password change request to go through, so using the previous one now works. Have you tried your original (old) password?

Does anyone have any idea whether FB accounts are mostly still not working? My wife never tried to change her password today and says her account is working. Do I just wait it out or is there something I should be doing?
