Re: ATLAS ? M. H. L. X. - ENJAY Refrig. Car

Picking up this topic for an update... I just purchased a lot of three pieces of rolling stock, one of which was a copy of the Enjay "Vistalon" car.? As we've noted, the "relettering" consists of stickers over the "Miller" trademark.? One side is in decidedly better shape than the other one!? You can probably guess which way I'll display it.

The lot of three including shipping was less than the asking price on just the one Enjay car in other listings.?

Helium tank cars

The following URL has some good info about modeling and real helium tank cars, some which were like the one Atlas used to offer.

Re: Size Of Atlas A1G Crane

Just wanted to be sure. That's the only crane in the A1G period as far as I remember.

Doug,?
Thank you for sharing the photos. I plan to extend the track on the left side around to the front for a large stub end yard with tracks on the curve being in tunnel.

I built several of the layouts but never as a permanent layout. I had a 4X8 layout board on which the track was held in place with thump tacks. Never wanted to commit to a single plan, was waiting till my sister moved out and could have 8X12 in that room for my layout. Still want to build the "N-9 MULTIPLE TRACK ARRANGEMENT"

I sure did George and have that floating around my house some where. One of the layouts I built on a old coffee table as a kid !

Re: Mystery Heinz 57 Vinegar Car?

Yes, there were later releases of basically the same car but none exactly like the original Atlas car(s).
?
And, in my previous message, I was blockheadedly thinking in terms of a forum and so, you guys would not know to what I was referring. Earlier in the thread, Martin Landry said he thought his version was an all brown Heinz Vinegar car but later wrote that he was thinking of the Hinckley& Schmidt car.

In addition to the ER release,? there was an Atlas release in the late 1980s or early 1990s.. (medium Atlas jewel case with a white label.)

The Heinz 57 is not the same as either of the Heinz cars pictured earlier in this thread.? It has a smaller '57' blue flat car and road number 200.

More later.? Not sure how much later "later" will be.
