The drivers on the Atlas Pacific are made of an engineering-type plastic/Delrin with nickel silver rims and can't deteriorate in a manner described. If you have a steamer with Zamac drivers, it is not an Atlas/Rivarossi steamer.

From previous correspondence on this site it appears that the metal the drivers were made from consists of some dubious lead/?zinc/ ? alloy which will eventually disintegrate. Its fatal!.

You're better off replacing them with some english made drivers eg Romford or North West lines? sic

Greetings all!
I have an Atlas 1G Pacific I am attempting to resurrect.
Upon disassembly, I notice the drivers are made of a dark gray material and are rather "soft".
They are so soft I fear they will not stay in gauge once the unit is reassembled.
Can anyone shed any light on this matter?
Are they supposed to be soft like this . . . if not, is there a cure?
I know this is a long shot, but are there replacement drivers available or does anyone have a set of drivers they would sell or "loan"?
